The Whole Hearted Cat
Posted on
Hello, the Finnabair moulds have finally arrived and boy they were worth the wait. There's 10 to choose from and if you have never come across the Prima moulds before, the detail and quality of the silicone is the best I have ever come across.
The other thing which Anna (Finnabair) does is use as much of the mould as possible, so there's lots of smaller parts, like screw heads & cogs which are fantastic for adding in extra details and filling small gaps.
You can use, air drying clay, plaster of paris and my favourite, resin.
Resin gives you a hard embellishment, which is perfect for mixed media, a coat of Gesso (clear, black or white) will allow you to use paint, sprays, waxes etc for adding colour
They do work well together, as you can see in my rather unusual looking cat. It's all part of the fun to place things together to see what you can make, I shall leave you with photo, let me know what you think :)
For this project we used the following products
